Summer Registration 2021 (English)

The Virtual Summer Program is a family based, alternative model to our traditional weekly program.

It is an intensive program that includes online classes, crafts, music, and live streaming Mass.

When: July 6- July 16

Where: At Home

Eligibility

  • You must be a registered parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua
  • You should connect to daily streaming Masses with your family
  • Grades 2 & 8 are not eligible for the Virtual Summer Program
  • You must attend 3 additional family events during the year
You will need

  • An electronic device, e.g., computer, laptop, tablet, phone
  • Internet access
  • Gmail account (using student’s name)

 


How does it work?

 

 

  • Live virtual class times on Google Meet: 

   Grades: 1,3,4 from 10:00am to 10:45am

   Grades: 5,6,7 from 11:30am to 12:15pm

**Many of our classes are already full. Please contact the Religious Education office to confirm availability of classes or other program options.

  • Daily assignments and homework will be posted on and should be submitted through Google Classroom. 
  • We recommend to set aside 3 or 4 hours every day for students to attend the live virtual classes and and do their assignments.
  • Once your child has attended all classes and submitted all assignments, you will receive an email informing you that your child has successfully completed the program.

Google Account: Setting up a Gmail account with your child’s name allows us to have more safety in our virtual classes. Your child will also have access to the their classes, assignments, and any class announcements. Please note that your child’s school account will not work.

$110 for one student

$190 for two students

$260 for three students

$50 for each additional above 3

 

 


Rules During Class

  • Connect to class on time
  • 100% attention is required during class, without any distractions at home
  • Students are required to be at home when they are in class
  • Students must have their camera on during the entire class time
  • Be respectful to catechists and other students
  • Only positive words should be used for answering questions out loud or in the chat function
  • Even though classes are online, students must dress appropriately (no pajamas, no short shorts and no bare midriffs)
  • Students are expected to be accompanied by an adult during online class for extra support and guidance

Important Reminders

  • Each student will be given a summer package that will include the Finding God Loyola Workbook and craft materials. Pickup information will be emailed to families.
  • Please check your Gmail regularly, as all information will be sent there.
  • Live virtual classes will be held through Google Meet. Assignments will be posted and submitted through Google Classroom.

What happens after the Virtual Summer Program?

It is important that your child remains connected to the parish community after the Virtual Summer Program ends. Families are required to attend 3 additional parish events during the year and submit a Reflection Sheet for each event to the Religious Education Office.

  • Advent Mass and Lighting of the Christmas tree
  • Holy Thursday and Eucharist Procession
  • Pentecost Vigil wearing red
  • Other options will be sent during the year
