Religious Education Program

Our Summer Program registration will begin in March  2021

 

Due to the current public health situation and required care practices we must take to stay safe, St. Anthony of Padua has decided to have ONLY Live Virtual and Homeschool instruction for the 2020-2021 Religious Education Program. There will be NO in-person sessions offered this year.  Live Virtual and Homeschool sessions will be divided as follows:

Sacramental Grades (2nd and 8th): Live Virtual

Leveling Grades (EM2, MS2, and HS2): Live Virtual

                                                           Other Grades (1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th): Homeschool

                                                           First Year Leveling Grades (EM1, MS1 and HS1): Homeschool

Live Virtual Sessions- Students will meet with their Catechists on their assigned day and time every week for 40 minutes. This is a live virtual class and attendance will be taken. Students will also be assigned homework to complete at home.

Homeschool Sessions- Students will not have live online sessions with their Catechists, however they will be required to watch weekly videos posted by their Catechists. All assignments must be submitted in order to successfully complete the grade level.

Guidelines for 2020-2021 Online Religious Education

 

★ 100% of attention is required in class, without any distractions at home.

★Be punctual signing in online and submitting assignments.

★Be respectful to catechists and other students.

★Even though classes are online, the student must dress appropriately (no pajamas, no short shorts and no bare midriffs).

★Students are expected to be accompanied by an adult during online class for extra support and guidance.

★Students are required to be at home when they are in RE class online and not in a car, ball field, etc.

★ Students must have the camera active during the Religious Education teaching time.

★Students must show face during the entire class time.  No emoji’s or pictures.

★Only positive words should be used for answering catechist’s questions in chat with catechist’s request/permission.

★Online students are required to submit work through Google Classroom in a timely manner, per   the catechist’s request.

 


Your Child will Need:

  • An electronic device, e.g., computer, laptop, tablet, phone (if you don’t have one please let us know)
  • Internet access
  • Gmail account (non-school account) in order to connect with Google Classroom

 


Tuition

$110  for one student

$190  for two students

$260 for three students

$50 for each additional student

Sacramental Preparation Fees

$75 Communion (2, EM2, MS2)

$75 Confirmation (8th, HS2)

** If you enroll your child in a Sacramental year (2, 8, EM2, ,MS2, HS2), please note the additional fee for Sacramental Preparation

Inability to meet payment should not deter anyone from being enrolled in our Religious Education Program.  Tuition payment may be made in installments according to your family’s financial situation.  If any challenges exist, please contact the Office of Religious Education.  All inquiries are confidential.

Important:

Confirmation is generally celebrated in the Spring of 8th Grade.  It is expected that students have successfully completed grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 6. 7 & 8.  If a student has missed any years of instruction they will need to be assessed and placed in the appropriate grade level.

New Students:

A copy of the student’s  Baptismal Certificate MUST accompany all new student registration.  All children should begin Religious Education Classes upon entering Grade 1 in public school and attend classes until Confirmation.
