EDGE – Middle School Ministry
Welcome to St. Anthony’s of Padua Edge Middle School Ministry!
Every other Sundays after Mass at 5pm
What is Edge?
It is a place for middle schoolers to CONNECT with other middle schoolers from all over the area. When you come you can look forward to playing games, sharing in small groups, getting ridiculous, and getting holy with some great middle schoolers. You definitely want to be a part of this.
It is a place for middle schoolers to CONNECT with CHRIST. As a middle school student you are ready to dive deep into a real, personal relationship with Jesus. As a child you may have depended on mom and dad’s faith (and that is a good thing) but as you begin to enter adulthood, Edge is a place for your faith to become their own.
Edge is a place to CONNECT with the CHURCH. We are a people called to personal relationship with Christ, but we are not alone. Jesus promised he would set up a kingdom that would last forever, and we are living in it. The CHURCH, guided by the Holy Spirit, protects us from getting off the path towards heaven. But it is more than that. St. Paul tells us the Church is the Body of Christ. We as members are parts of the body and we need to be connected to it.
For Parents
Edge presents a 6-semester curriculum. This systematic approach to Middle School Catechesis is designed to create a foundation for the United States Council of Catholic Bishops’ Framework for High School Catechesis. The six semesters are as follows:
- Scripture
- Creed
- Church
- Sacraments
- Prayer
- Social Justice
In addition to these topics, we will also do 1-2 nights on Catholic Morality within each semester. Our goal is to provide you with nights that are Catholic, educational, relevant, and on the middle school level.
